New Jazz Residency and New Album!!!

    Hey Everyone,
I am writing because I am so excited to be starting a new residency this week at the beautiful Redbury Hotel on Vine St. in Hollywood (theredbury.com). This night will take place every Wednesday starting this week August 3rd. The night will go from 8:30-11:30pm and will be in the beautiful new outdoor/indoor patio area of the hotel called the library on the 2nd floor. This is a really incredible space that features a great relaxing and elegant environment with some of the best cocktails in the city and food from the restaurant Cleo (a truly amazing spot located in the hotel). Each week we will be playing a combination or original music and some new takes on standards and pop tunes with various guests coming by each week. There are not many spots to see jazz in LA so I would really appreciate your support in coming out to get this off to a great start and keep it going.
This will week will feature one of my favorite musicians from NY who is in town for the week, Erik Deutsch. Erik and I will be playing in a trio with the incredible Scott Sevier on drums. We will be playing a lot of Erik’s original music and some fun tunes you might recognize. This should be a really great night of music, and oh yeah there is no cover or minimum!!!
Also, in other news I have recently completed my second full-length album entitled “Violet” to be released on Porter records later this year. This record features many great artists from around the city ranging from the Jonas Bros to KCRW DJ Anthony Valadez and I cannot wait for you all to hear it. I will be posting some samples and teasers on my various sites soon so please check the links below. To celebrate the completion of my album I will be doing a show at the Del Monte Speak easy this Sunday, August 7th at 8:30pm. We will be playing a few new tunes of mine, and a bunch of fun dance and jazz tunes, yes we are going to improvise and make you dance! The group will feature myself, Sam Barsh, Charlie Sputnik, and Art Bleek (fresh from Paris). Please come out and have fun with us if you are free.
Hope to see you all soon!!
    Nick
